Tour4EU
Tour4EU (Tuscan Organization of Universities and Research for Europe), based in Brussels, is the non-profit association of Belgian law that brings together the Tuscany Region and the seven Tuscan universities (University of Pisa, University of Florence, University of Siena, University for Foreigners of Siena, IMT High Studies Lucca, Scuola Normale Superiore and Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna) to promote the interests of the Tuscan research system at the EU, strengthen its internationalisation and increase its European planning.
There are currently several clusters, Authorities, Research Centres, individual Universities and consortia established and active in Brussels. Tour4Eu has become part of this scene aiming at interacting with the institutions of the European Union and other strategic stakeholders, in order to intercept and channel opportunities and funding, promote synergies, internationalization, scientific cooperation and European planning, also involving the industrial sector and small and medium-sized businesses, towards a more advanced and innovative interaction between the universities and the industrial world.
Regione Toscana and the 7 universities involved have a long experience in EU projects with more than 292 – H2020 projects awarded till present on ERC, FET, MSCA, ICT, Health, etc.
Relevant previous projects and initiatives
- The Trigger project “Transforming Institutions by gendering contents and gaining equality in Research” (http://triggerproject.eu/) University of Pisa. Regione Toscana Brussels office has designed and organise the final event promoting the project results with more than 100 participants at EU level (26 September 2017) and elaborating the press release with European press. Regione Toscana Brussels office has organised the event in Brussels;
- Climate-change and doctors in action to share and promote experiences to understand and face environmental health issues” at the European Parliament, 27 June 2018 in partnership with ISDE Italia and Heal Association;
- DIH-HERO Horizon 2020 Digital Innovation HUB, Robotics in Healthcare. DT-ICT-02-2018: Robotics – Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH) (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna with the support of Regione Toscana thanks to Brussels liaison office).
